Hello,
I am so happy to welcome you to my website as well as I am excited to present my art to you! First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Inna Skliarska and I’m in my twenties. I come from Ukraine, identify me as a ukrainian, but I live and study in Germany for several years. Feeling at home in two countries at the same time is strange and sometimes very difficult, but also it is an insanely interesting and unique experience.
My life literally revolves around art. I discovered my passion for painting as a little girl and it has been with me in my life ever since. It feels like I’ve painted my whole life, no matter where I was and how I felt: whether secretly in classes at school, at night when I couldn’t sleep, with inspiration or simply out of boredom – painting was an irreplaceable part of my life and my personality. I would say that I am self-taught, because I never got any lessons as such. Sometimes I tried to copy some tricks from other artists or occasionally learned some techniques from the tutorials in the books or on YouTube. But most of what I’ve learned about painting, I’ve learned through painting, through practicing. And I’m sure this is the surest way to find your own way in drawing, your own form of expression, to understand what you personally want to express with your art and which images speak from you. I think that my pictures express my worldview and can tell a lot about myself and my life.
Three years ago I started studying art history at the Martin Luther University in Halle (Saale).
Due to my studies, now I can not only make art, but also understand its history and its meaning for the world and society and it gives me a lot of sources for inspiration. I think that may be the reason why my pictures are often very different and go in different directions. This prompts you to think more about the meaning of what you are doing and the meaning of painting for yourself and for those who see your art. With my pictures, I let myself out and bring people closer to how I am, how I feel now and how I see the world. I like the little details of our everyday life, the unusual beauty of the common things that accompany us in our lives. What’s on my table, what’s lying around in my apartment, what does that say about me and my current stage of life? In addition, my art is often about self-exploration and the emotions, the reaction to the events in the world and my personal environment.
I hope my pictures would enrich your day and would give you interesting thoughts.
Thank you for being here!
Sincerely,
